Actually this little cup isn't silver, but stainless steel! I did this one in colour pencil first, but wasn't happy with it, so I went over it in oil. Somehow, having the drawing and the colours established before I began painting, enabled me to get the "looser", more impressionistic look I'm always striving for when I work in oil....

Another experiment: this time I used my soft pastels on the suede board. It's a little trickier than working with coloured pencils, but the pastels and suede do go well together...

This one is done with coloured pencil on an old piece of mat that I took out of a frame and cut up. I find it takes more layers of the pencil than some other surfaces do. I used a tiny smidgen of white oil paint for some of the highlights.

I started this one in coloured pencil and then ended up going over it in oil. The mat board was just a bit too rough for the coloured pencil.

I love mushrooms for their shapes and colours! It's also fun to imagine little fairy folk living nearby!

I found a great supplier for ACEO materials on Ebay; yesterday my order for ACEO-sized Suedboard arrived and I couldn't wait to get started using it! This is done with colour pencil.

Something a little different from all the still lifes I've been doing lately. This is still using coloured pencil on black paper. I saw this tree along the road where one of my sons and his family recently moved........a stunningly beautiful, rustic spot!

More lovely farm-fresh eggs! I love the way they are so wonderfully shaped and reflect the light! These eggs are sitting in my skillet, in the transitional stage between raw and cooked! I used Oil Pastels for this painting.

A farm-fresh egg from my son and daughter in law's chickens! I enjoy one of these most mornings and today I captured this one just as it was turning from raw to cooked! Coloured Pencil on black Paper.

Another ACEO done on some suede I had lying around my studio. I've ordered some black suede and looking forward to experimenting with that...
